Happy New Year! It’s time again to make a resolution and do your best to stick to it. I’m going to try to limit the amount of time I spend watching TV and use that time more productively. What about you guys, anything you’d really like to work on? Now’s a great time to start. I, for one, am definitely going to work hard to make this year different for myself.
I’m not a big fan of popcorn, the kernels somehow always get stuck in my teeth, but doctor it up and you can bet I’ll chomp on a few handfuls. This popcorn has two kinds of chocolate along with a few fun sprinkles to go along with the holiday. Of course, you can add a little more color by using candy melts and make the toppings pink or orange or green. It’s all up to you!
New Year's Eve Popcorn
- 1 3-oz bag popcorn (no butter) popped
- 2 oz baker's semisweet chocolate
- 2 oz baker's white chocolate
- gold star sprinkles
- gold sugar sprinkles
- black or silver sugar sprinkles
Line a large baking sheet with wax or parchment paper. Evenly distribute the popcorn on the sheet.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semisweet chocolate with 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval. Once melted, drizzle over the popcorn then add some sugar sprinkles.
In another microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate the same way as the semisweet chocolate. Drizzle this chocolate on the popcorn, then sprinkle with the gold stars.
Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator to chill until the chocolate has set, then break into pieces.
